Declaration of the Asian American Political Alliance (AAPA)

The Asian American Political Alliance is people. It is a people’s alliance to effect social and political changes.

Besides being incredibly active during the Third World Liberation Front, AAPA was also directly involved in community outreach and development. AAPA would provide services to Oakland Chinatown, San Francisco Chinatown, Manilatown, and other Asian American communities. For example, a couple of AAPA members spent a weekend in Delano, CA in order to learn more the Delano Grape Workers’ Strike. They were also very active in the fight for the International Hotel¬†and mobilized many Asian Americans and other community members to prevent the eviction of the senior citizens living in the hotel. AAPA was more than a student organization. It was a community organization.
